Slow Cooker Beef Stew

This easy crockpot recipe resembles the ID’s Perfect Pot Roast recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 – 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 package of Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 6 Yukon Gold potatoes, quartered
  • 4 whole carrots, cut up
  • (optional) mushrooms
  • salt and pepper

Directions:

  • In shallow dish, dredge cut up beef in flour and steak seasoning
  • Heat oil in large fry pan and brown beef stew meat
  • Transfer beef to slow cooker
  • Add onions, potatoes, carrots and (optional) mushrooms
  • In mixing bowl, combine soup mix, mushroom soup, and red wine
  • Pour soup mixture over beef and onions
  • Cover and cook on high for 6 hours, stirring occasionally
  • Lower temperature to low setting and cook an additional 1-2 hours
  • Season to taste
